MINISTRY NEWS...

WE HAVE A ROOF!!!
​
In May, we received a construction team from New Life Church in Virginia. This mighty team of six came to serve alongside us in Guatemala and their focus was helping us advance the construction on our property.
​
The team hit the ground running and worked at an incredible speed. They constructed and completed a roof, painted, mortared rocks, helped to raise one of the walls of the building, and spent time at the school sharing time with our students. We are so grateful for the team, their offering of time and resources, and their expertise that made this project possible. We are grateful for them sowing into what God is doing here and being a part of the spiritual legacy of Gracia Ministries in Guatemala.

We also want to say THANK YOU to Sonrise Pembroke Manor and Central Church Tipton who also donated towards the purchase of materials for this project. Due to your generosity we were able to purchase what was needed and finish this project!

We need help! We want to grow our English program and the worship academy, and that means we need PEOPLE to serve beside us! Do you (or someone you know) love the arts, music, drama, and teaching? Can you speak conversational Spanish, or are willing to dedicate the time to learn? Can you dedicate at least two years to missionary service?

THE WORSHIP ACADEMY
​
The worship academy is in full swing at the local public school. This year we are on a two-week cycle where we work with each group once every two weeks. The students constantly ask us when we will go back to a one-week cycle; however, due to high class numbers (3rd and 4th grade are combined this year with 42 students in one classroom!) we are unable to accommodate more than one class at a time.
Luzde and Jandy continue to do an AWESOME job with our students, and we are so excited to see how much they are learning and retaining. The kids quickly memorize our key verses and are quick to answer any questions.
Luzde has also been teaching English classes, and our kids are learning colors, numbers, and basic phrases! We are excited about expanding our English program in the future as we know that English is a tool that will enable our students to get better jobs in the future.
THE LAND PROJECT UPDATE!!
​
As of October 17, 2024 we have a perimeter wall on the property! We are now focusing on finishing work on some of the sections of the wall, constructing the cabin which will be our home, and constructing a screened-in gazebo that will be a classroom space for our students.
​
Thanks to a team from New Life Church and generous donations, we have a roof on our cabin!! We keep moving forward building a ministry home on our property and give all the glory to God!
