Ministry Update

MINISTRY NEWS...

In May, we received a team from New Life Church in Virginia and they PUT IN SOME WORK!! This team of nine people (including two boys ages 6 and 9) came to serve alongside us in Guatemala.

After focusing for the past five years on building out at the land, our rental house needed A LOT of maintenance. The team painted the inside AND the outside of our rental house, they replaced our worn shade cloth around the exterior of the house, they sealed our roof (YAYYYYY! No more leaky roof when it rains), they helped install the floor of the cabin at the land, they served the students at the worship academy, and they participated in our discipleship group! (Whew… just writing that makes me tired!)

We are SO GRATEFUL for their hearts to serve, and for them taking time to come and work alongside us and serve us. We are so thankful for ALL the teams we have received in Guatemala. Each one has put in hard work, literally helped lift up our arms when we have been tired, and energized us to continue the work here on the ground.

-MINISTRY NEED-

WE have had our 2010 Mazda pickup for NINE AMAZING YEARS and it has been through some stuff!! In the past six months, we have had to put over $3,000 in repairs into our pickup and the time has come to “retire” our faithful friend. Moving forward, we will be using the truck as a work truck, and need to purchase a ministry vehicle for our transportation needs.

We are raising $12,000 to purchase a dependable newer model (2015 or newer ) SUV that will serve to move our personnel, students, and meet our daily transportation needs. We need something in good shape (the roads here are ROUGH!), that will be easy to get replacement parts, and will keep us safe as we travel.

THE LAND PROJECT UPDATE!!

As of October 17, 2024 we have a perimeter wall on the property! We are now focusing on constructing the cabin which will be our home, and constructing a screened-in gazebo that will be a classroom space for our students.

After getting a roof installed on the cabin in May 2025, we’ve finished the east facing wall on the cabin, filled the spaces between the columns and window frames with rock and mortar, and leveled the floor. As of May 2026, we officially have a cement FLOOR IN THE CABIN!! Next steps will be windows, doors, adding a bathroom, and flooring!!
